About myself

Oh, what will I tell about myself?
As you maybe have seen on the main page I am born on the 9th of august 1952 in Terneuzen (Zeeland). I lived in different cities in the Netherlands, Terneuzen, Amsterdam, Hengelo (Ov), Hoogvliet, Capelle a/d IJssel and now I am living in Spijkenisse. In 1978 I married Ank Krauweel and together we have 3 sons. They are called Remko, Gerard and Erik. Remko is the oldest and is born in 1980. Gerard came 4 years later in 1984. And more than a year later (1985) the youngest, Erik, was born. Erik has become the tallest one (1,95 meter).

As you can see on the left side I have several hobbies. I haven't mentioned an old hobby of me, because I am not active practicing this hobby anymore. It is astronomy. In my teenage ages I started that hobby and I ended it around 1980 when genealogy was going to interest me more. Genealogy was taking so much time that I had to stop the other hobby. I even was a member of the local observatory. I still keep abreast of this science.

I also did many kind of sports. In Amsterdam I started with athletics (A.A.C), after my moving to Hoogvliet (near Rotterdam) I got member of the local athletic club in Spijkenisse (SPARK). I have done this till the end of 1974. I got out of the parents house and moved to Capelle a/d IJssel. I began a typical dutch sport named korfball in the little town Poortugaal. I have done this till march 1979 when I got injured (my knee). I was forced to stop with sport for a while. After a few years I tried badminton, but that was no success. Then I tried Volleyball, I did it rather well, but after some time I began to feel that knee again and I stopped. After some time I got back to korfball in Spijkenisse with the veterans. But even here I wasn't lucky. It was in Dordrecht where my knee didn't want to work. I stopped for several years, did some swimming, but not regualry. It was on the end of 2004 I found a sport I like, Basic Walking. It is just a form of good walking in a fast tempo. Yes, this is what I am still doing and with pleasure, every week.
